Prerequisites for Admission:

 1. A first university degree of Architecture, Urban Design, Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Landscape Planning and -Architecture or close related degrees.

2. Ability to attend a full time study program.

3. Good command of the English language (TOEFL of at least 79 points (iBT); IELTS (min 6.0 points) or Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) (both minimum grade B) exams. (Results have to be sent directly from the testing centre to BTU International Office).

4. Experience in identifying relevant urban development problems, defining tasks, methods and strategies to solve these problems and the ability to design qualified concepts in a traceable way, which will be approved by the registration university.

How to Apply?

     The applicants who have a degree from Cairo University or Alexandria University can apply by submitting scans of their application documents to me (urbandesign-ms@b-tu.de). BTU will process their application and if they are admitted to the programme, they are issued a conditional letter of admission that lists the documents that they have to provide in hard copy. They can then choose when and how to submit these missing documents:

1. They can send in the documents via mail any time before coming to Germany for enrolment. Sending the documents via mail beforehand has the advantage that BTU can check whether the documents are complete before the applicant leaves Egypt for Germany. If anything was missing BTU would inform the applicant, thereby giving him/her a heads up and an opportunity to get the missing document before leaving for Germany.

2. They can bring their documents  when they come to Germany in late September/early October.
